The Best Lips Colors for a Tan

It’s that time of year again where SPF becomes our #1 best friend.  And depending on our different skin tones, some of us are able to get that deep, dark tan while others are only able to bring out the freckles in their face -- not to mention most of us get a little burnt on our noses.  But regardless of how the rays reacts with our complexion, lip colors can help to either enhance our tan or take the attention away from our burns.

FAIR SKIN

Our girl Tay(lor Swift) embraces her fair complexion like none other. She doesn’t obsess over covering her body in embarassment of un-tanned legs, but instead she appreciates it by incorporating the color pink to not only her wardrobe, but her makeup routine. The color hot pink is a must for gals with pale skin.  This tone not only allows your face to look more bronze, but it also takes away from any redness that you may have.

BEIGE SKIN

Vanessa Hudgens is a boho princess who likes to edge things up a bit. Instead of typical nude lips, she likes to enhance her naturally tanned skin with a pop of plum on her lips.  This shade is a great for ladies who have a sun kissed complexion, because it deepens the appearance of their face while still maintaining their natural tone. If you’re someone who is prone to looking washed out by brighter lip colors… this hue is perfect for you!

BURNT SKIN

Since Emma Stone has very fair skin that is likely to be prone to burns, it’s important to stick with high SPF. But if you do happen to lay out too long at the beach -- regardless of your sunscreen -- and end up looking like a lobster, opt for soft pink lips. Natural colors are best to wear when your skin is more red than normal.  This is because, the softness of the lip color will tone down the harshness of color everywhere else on your face.
