3 Wedding Looks with a Twist

“Here comes the bride, all dressed in white…” and instead of sporting light pink on her lips, she’s rocking bright and unlikely hues. While most girls dream of snowflake white dresses with hints of pink on their lips, some bride’s dream of breaking the norm, and stepping out of their comfort zones to expand their bridal look. From embellished gowns paired with cherry red lips, to patterned, deep-V maxi paired with orange lips, there is something for every bride-to-be who wants to take a twist on this typical pastry-like look.

EMBELLISHED GOWNS + CHERRY RED LIPS

As white wedding dresses are a classic -- and will always be -- it can be refreshing to add a little more sparkle and pop to this look. Embellishments and red lips are the way to go.  By adding subtle glimmer to your dress and red lips to your happily-ever-after smile, you’ll look classic in a way that is new and invigorating.

GET THE LOOK:

CLASSIC CORAL + NOB HILL RED

Start by taking Classic Coral on your FF brush and mixing in a generous amount of Nob Hill Red.  To add more cherry to your look, add more Nob Hill Red and just a hint of Classic Coral.

BLUSH PINK DRESS + COTTON CANDY LIPS

Nothing says “bride” quite like a classic tulle skirt dress.  But instead of settling for a sweetheart neckline and crisp white color, take a risk with a cami-like neckline with a soft pink color throughout.  This relaxed neckline is the perfect contrast for the atypical blush color of the dress.  But in order to add pizzazz to your bridal look, paint on a cotton candy tone to your lips to bring out the pink in the dress but also enhance your natural flush on your face.

GET THE LOOK:

PINK PIZZAZZ + CREAMY MAUVE

For the perfect cotton candy hue, mix an overwhelming amount of Pink Pizzazz with a small dollop of Creamy Mauve.

PLUNGING NECKLINE + SUNSET LIPS

Since white wedding dresses symbolize purity, this deep-v dress adds scandal to this bridal look.  Though most brides-to-be aren’t ones for showing off their “girls” to their entire family on their special day, scallop and lace accents are key to still keeping the look modest and wedding appropriate.  Because the dress itself is already daring, opt for a subtle orange lip color to accentuate your natural features but add liveliness that resembles the energy fueled sun.

GET THE LOOK:

ORANGE SORBET + CLASSIC CORAL + TEQUILA SUNRISE

To get this pop of orange color, mix equal parts of Orange Sorbet, Classic Coral, and Tequila Sunrise, and you’re ready to rock this sunset shade.
