5 Lipstick Laws for Redheads to BREAK

Too often redheads assume that taking beauty or fashion risks is too intense for their incandescent manes. Well ladies, let us tell you that this season you need to forget about the voices in your heads that are telling you that cherry-pop lipstick is too much for your beautiful hair and just go for it.  After all, summer is about having fun. For that reason, here at Finding Ferdinand, we want to present 5 lipstick shades for you to break out this season. In terms of makeup keep it classic and natural, let your lips be the center of attention!

1. Bold Red

Red plus red equals FIRE. And, who wouldn’t be the girl on fire? Red lipstick has been the most essential lip color through the centuries and matching it with your red locks is definitely a bold move. Find a color that really makes a contrast with your hair and skin  to perfectly define your lips for maximum impact.

BING CHERRY + RED FANTASY

It's important to make sure that your shade of deep red isn't holding you back from fully embracing spring!  Keep the color light and fresh by mixing some shimmering Red Fantasy to blood-red Bing Cherry.

2. Warm Orange

Orange played a huge role last season as the color of choice for most designers and celebrities.  Tangerine Tango is still a reigning color in the beauty industry even since it was crowned Pantone's Color of the Year all the way back in 2012.  This is great news for redheads because there is no better way to achieve a summer glow that is both warm and natural than with a subtle, sunny orange shade.

GET THE LOOK:

ORANGE FLARE + CREAMY MAUVE

Bring Orange Flare into the natural category by combining it with Creamy Mauve.

3. Bright Pink

Add the most feminine touch with a bit of pink. It’s fresh, young and perfect for absolutely any occasion. There’s no better combination for this season than orange-red and hot-pink lips. Something about the blooming florals all around us make this look perfect for spring.

GET THE LOOK:

MAGENTA POP + PINK PIZZAZZ + CLASSIC CORAL

To avoid a color that is too severe, add Classic Coral to a mixture of Magenta Pop and Pink Pizzazz.  The combination of cool and warm pinks will create a shade that is bright but not too contrived.

4. Natural Flush

Besides the classic red, a basic must-have for every girl is the perfect natural lip.  Note that natural does not always mean nude. Try adding a bit of orange or red to give it a discrete glow.

GET THE LOOK:

MAUVELOUS + AU NATUREL + RED FANTASY

Your hair is way too exciting for a simple nude counterpart.  Make your nude lip more interesting by adding a sheer pop of Red Fantasy.  If you want to experiment, make sure to also try Classic Coral or Cranberry.

5. Wine-stained

With the flood of color brought by the latest heat wave, why wouldn't we add earthy wine color to the mix? This look is a bit unexpected and inspired in the vamp looks from fall while remaining perfectly suitable for spring and summer.  It's the perfect way to transition your signature look between seasons.

GET THE LOOK:

BERRY JAM + RED FANTASY + SINFUL

Begin by striking a balance between purple and red, or Berry Jam and Red Fantasy.  Deepen the color to your liking by slowly adding Sinful.
